Pignose 7 100 Legendary Portable Amplifier Review

The Pignose 7-100 Legendary portable amplifier is very compact and lightweight.  It weighs in at just 5 pounds and is powered by six AA batteries for ultimate portability, you don’t even need a power source.  If you do wish to plug into an outlet there is an optional AC 9 volt converter that can be stored inside the amplifier case.

The Pignose 7-100 is a great amp for a beginner that is just learning to play but it’s also a wonderful option for anyone who wants to be able to practice or play anywhere at any time.  This versatile amplifier can even be used as a studio amp.  You can plug your guitar, or any other instrument for that matter, into this amplifier and then plug it into the soundboard.  Your Pignose 7-100 can also be used in live performances as a preamp which can be plugged into larger, more powerful amplifiers.

The Reviews:

There are a lot of good reviews online for the Pignose 7-100 Legendary portable amplifier.  It is a simple little amplifier that really doesn’t have any features unless you consider a single volume knob a feature.  There is no equalizer, tone adjustments, effects etc.  Any tone adjustments would have to be made via your guitar or an effects box, but despite this lack of features this little amp is still getting really good reviews.

People are impressed by its rugged, durable build and really like its retro look.  It’s also a very portable amplifier because it is so lightweight and runs on batteries.  With a lightweight amplifier that doesn’t require a power source you can play with this amplifier just about anywhere, at the beach, barbecues, camping trips, backyard parties, or anywhere else.  The six AA batteries that are included will give you about five or six hours of playing time.

This amplifier can be used for many other instruments, not just electric guitars.  One of the reviews we found online is from someone that mics their harmonicas and uses this amp as a portable sound system.  In addition to being lightweight and battery operated there is a well built handle on top and there are knobs on either side of this amplifier that allow you to attach a guitar strap for added mobility.

You won’t get the same full bodied tone out of this amp that you would with a larger, more expensive amp and with a 5 inch speaker nobody really expects it to be able to compete with those types of amplifiers.  Having said that, the Pignose 7-100 Legendary portable amplifier does produce good quality sound and is a great option for anyone that needs a good practice amp or a portable option that can go anywhere.
